We at Spedition Lang take the issue of sustainability very seriously.
In a joint workshop, we considered the areas in which we could implement the topic of sustainability. We paid special attention to the packaging material, the transport routes and the avoidance of paper.
Saving on bubble wrap can be achieved by packing with reusable packing blankets. Paper packaging is also a consideration. When it comes to cardboard boxes, we have looked at what alternatives are available. Here, reusable plastic boxes, brown cardboard boxes instead of white ones, environmentally friendly printing and general reuse can be seen as options.
Also, ecological adhesive tape should be used and the boxes should only be labelled on the labels, this serves the reusability of the boxes. The waste of packaging material should generally be reduced in order to save resources.Spedition Lang also plans to focus on sustainability in transport routes. CO2 emissions are to be minimised by optimising transport routes and reducing empty runs. In addition, refuelling is to take place at eco-fuelling stations. The CO2 emissions that are nevertheless produced will be compensated for. In the future, the use of hydrogen trucks will also be examined. It is also being considered that certain routes should no longer be travelled by lorry, but instead by train.If a journey is only possible by truck, it should be driven economically in order to reduce fuel consumption.
Another topic to be addressed in the future at Spedition Lang is saving paper. Here, the printout of e-mails is to be reduced and the printing of invoices is to be dispensed with. Information is to be communicated via WhatsApp instead of on paper and digital information is to be preferred. This should reduce paper consumption and save resources.
Spedition Lang thus shows that sustainability is an important part of its future business model. By implementing measures in the areas of packaging material, transport routes and saving paper, the company aims to actively contribute to the protection of our environment.
